What is vastu? It’s essentially the Sanskrit word for “thing.” It derives from the root vas, which means to dwell or exist. It’s something that’s real, as opposed to something that’s just an idea or an illusion. When the word has a long “a” sound it becomes vaastu and refers to a residence.
